About the Project
Birdie Slippers are the most versatile slippers in the world. Birdies combines elevated style, luxurious comfort and everyday versatility. Birdies calls its shoe "the stylish flat that's secretly a slipper" because they look luxuriously chic but are also surprisingly comfortable. Meghan Markle has been seen wearing Birdies which boosts the brand's popularity.
The Goal
To redesign their online experience.
Design Challenge
To help their customers find the perfect slipper. Areas that needed improvement were navigation, mobile navigation, content placement and helping their customers find and discover their products. Birdies wanted to see variation and design options.
My Responsibilities
From stakeholder interviews, I quickly went to creating high-fidelity wireframes (refer to InVision link above). I created different navigation experiences on desktop and mobile, as well as different layouts for the collection and product pages. One thing I noticed from current customer feedback is that their current site did not clearly show how they can purchase slippers out of stock or to get on the waitlist. I focused on this problem on the collections and product pages. On the collection page, I created a state where if it is sold out, it is indicated and there is an option to "Join the Waitlist". When selecting that option, customers will be prompted to also choose their size and input their E-mail. Another feature I designed is a state to select a size on the collection page so that the customer may not even need to leave that page to add slippers to the cart. On the product page, the callout to get notified for sold out slippers are more prominent.
